We are kicking off Black Squirrel® History Month by celebrating Ground Squirrel Day on Friday, February 1, 2013

by on February 1, 2013

LotterySquirrel.com has proclaimed February 1st to be known as “Ground Squirrel Day.” This will be a great way of kicking off Black Squirrel® History month.

We will be looking to our two black squirrels, and mascots of Victoria-Park.com, Vicky and Albert (pictured below), for their predictions of either a shorter or a longer winter.

Like Groundhog Day held on February 2nd, on Ground Squirrel Day we will be watching for Vicky and Albert to see their shadows. Should both Vicky and Albert see their shadows, we are doubly doomed to have six more long weeks of winter. If, however, our two prognosticating ground squirrels do NOT see their shadows, then we will be blessed with an early spring!

And why two ground squirrels? Because two ground squirrels are more accurate than only one groundhog! That’s what makes our Ground Squirrel Day with Vicky and Albert more reliable than Wiarton Willie or Punxsutawney Phil. 😉

A Lucky Black Squirrel Pin (like the one shown here) was used to hold Ric Wallace’s dream home lottery ticket on a cork board in his office. This ticket turned out to be the Grand Prize winning ticket ($775,000+). Ric also wears a few of these lucky pins daily on his jacket, shirt, or hat.

The Lucky Coin® / Lucky Squirrel Scratcher® – use the coin as a scratch device to remove protective coatings off lottery tickets or coupons. This lucky coin is an ideal gift to include with scratch lottery tickets in birthday cards. Carry the coin safely in your pocket, wallet, or purse as an item of luck. Use the coin for coin tosses. Sew the coin into sports gear or garments. You can even drill a small hole in the coin to attach to a key chain.
