Loto-Québec to offer online gambling

Loto-Québec will join the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and the Atlantic Lottery Corporation in offering tickets and other games online.

(OLG) Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and Western Canada Lottery Corporation do not have online purchasing of games. The OLG does have a lotto advance service online for Lotto 649 only.

If all goes according to plan, Loto-Québec will be offering online gambling, including poker tournaments, before Christmas.

Finance Minister Raymond Bachand announced Wednesday that the cabinet has approved the move in a bid “to cannibalize illegal gambling” sites that now offer an array of gambling
