The next installment of Black Squirrel History month focuses on the student-run Black Squirrel Radio in Kent, Ohio.
Black Squirrel Radio is completely run by Kent State students and has nearly 150 students on its staff. The management of the station is handled by the General Manager and the 12 members on the Board of Directors.
Over the years, Black Squirrel Radio has evolved into mainly an internet radio station. The station’s website draws visitors from nearly 100 different countries. You can listen to Black Squirrel Radio streaming on our Web site or you can hear us in the dorms on channel 4 or on Time Warner Cable Channel 16 in Portage County, Ohio.
