Happy Groundhog Day!
It looks like Wiarton Willie, Punxsutawney Phil, and Shubenacadie Sam all agree with Vicky & Albert — Victoria Park’s Black Squirrel® mascots. Everybody saw their shadows, so we will have six more weeks of winter.
From Furry forecasters predict 6 more weeks of winter weather:
Canada’s two most famous furry forecasters and their American counterpart saw their shadows when they arose from their slumbers Tuesday morning, bringing bad news to those yearning for an early spring.
Now, Vicky & Albert were way ahead of these prognosticating groundhogs. Our squirrels already predicted six more weeks of winter yesterday: Six More Weeks of Winter – Ground Squirrel Day.
Are Vicky & Albert psychic? How else do you explain how they knew in advance what their more famous cousins would predict?
Note: Vicky & Albert are not trying to steal the spotlight from the glamorous groundhogs. This is just a little friendly rodent rivalry and a little bit of fun to help celebrate Black Squirrel® History month.
