Seven Years Ago Today — December 1, 2002

Seven years ago today on December 1, 2002 in London, Ontario, we had a bad snow storm and just purchased a snow blower, so I would not kill myself shoveling the heavy snow. After the driveway was done, I headed up on the roof to remove some heavy drifts (not with the snow blower). The ladder gave way, and I fell about 15 feet onto the ladder. My right hand was smashed and my arm was broken and injuries all along my right side from the steps on the ladder.

St Joesph’s hospital in London, Ontario was responsible for giving me the use of my right hand back after 3 casts, an operation and a year of therapy.
LotterySquirrel.com and WinBig.ca both heavily promote charitable lotteries for FREE, as the people and organizations running them have given me so much! People like me have done many stupid things, and the hospitals have saved my life many times.

A lot has happened in 7 years. Although 2004 was a very good year for me, I see 2010 topping 2004. Read the story as it unfolds on LotterySquirrel.com

In 2004, I was fortunate to get a call from the hospital lottery saying we won a $775,000 Dream Home package. We have a different perspective on lotteries than most people, and we even wrote a book. We lived in a BIG dream home for 3.5 years and sold it in January 2008, before all the bad economic times. (Looking back, the timing to move was right; other competing houses [Nov 2008] have dropped $30,000 to $100,000+).  Some friends are now asking if we saw the current mess coming, as I had also predicted our 2004 lottery win (page18). I told many people (months after moving in) that the value of the big dream home would drop like a rock in a few years following the win, and I knew we had to be out long before 2010.

A Lucky Black Squirrel (Lottery Charm®) pin was used to hold the winning grand prize ticketon a corkboard in the office of LotterySquirrel.com creator Ric Wallace.
